Hey guys, just a preliminary question before I receive my raspberry pi through the door.

I ordered a Sandisk 45mb/s Extreme due to it being verified as working on the "verified peripherals" section of the site. Now my question refers to it saying

"works with arch-04-29-image and latest firmware (booting problems without firmware update) / works with debian wheezy kernel 3.2.27+ (jLo)"

So im assuming the newest version of wheezy will run this fine, but what about the latest firmware. Do I need to flash the PI with some new firmware before installing the o/s?

Thanks guys

I didn't have a problem with Extreme 45MB/s 16Gb cards with the most recent Pi purchased last month. This was with a whole variety of distros. So I don't think you'll have a problem (or you wouldn't have until I said that), the remedy 10 months ago was simple anyway, so just follow the installation instructions for your chosen distro and worry about/solve it should it occur.
