EDIT: Just wanted to add that this is to extend the power cord closer to my outlet.

The description implies that all lines are present "Can charge and trasfer Data with Computer" so in principal you should be ok.

Whether the cable of sufficient quality such that it does not drop any volts remains to be seen. So if your power supply were marginal to start with, and the cable of low quality, then you might struggle to make it work.

Looks good but why not just a regular extension cord with multiple outlets you can probably get one just as cheap at a local store. The other option is one with built in surge protection it would probably cost a bit more but offers protection. This is assuming you wouldn't be daisy chaining multiple extension cords already. For the price I'd risk it personally but I don't know about chaining 2 of them together.

I wouldn't. Even the best cables drop rather more voltage than I am comfortable with. Those probably drop more, and every added cable drops it's own few hundred millivolts.

If you need a long low-voltage feed, then I would use a higher voltage supply and put a UBEC at the Pi end.

I wouldn't buy anything from Ebay, because you have no idea what you are getting. If you decide that a longer cable is the way to go, get a single cable of the proper length and get one with larger diameter AWG wires for the power leads. Just don't go ridiculous on the length; but if you have to, either take rurwin's advice or extend the power supply AC power cord length instead of the usb cable length.

Here is a 3 foot cable from Monoprice with 24 AWG power lead wires. Only $1.20. I Don't know the total length you need, but this also comes in longer lengths.

Personally, I am using a 6 foot cable with even thicker 22 AWG power lead wires (Does not state it but I verified the AWG with an email to Mediabridge). $5.99 with free shipping from Amazon. No power problems at all with my pi, fed from a Griffin usb power supply:

It would be nice if they gave you the current rating on that Ebay supply; are any specs written on it? I am using a Dual Port Griffin Power Block that I would recommend which supplies 1 amp per port, but it is very old and I see that the part number is obsolete, and I don't know anything about their newer products.

Nevermind, the total cost for this with shipping (because I live in Canada) is 32$ and I'm really not willing to pay that much for just a cord. I was looking at this instead: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.as ... 6812816066.

I'm just hoping that the plastic on the end of the micro is too thick to fit in my Pi and especially if I'm using my ModMyPi case.
