Using RaspPi for a stream client

Thu Feb 07, 2013 6:02 pm

Hi guys!

I have some specific problem for my project: i would like to listening music from rasp using my stream server and RaspPi as a client. The main problems:

How can I adjust RaspPi volume?

I can connect to my shoutcast server perfectly, but it is very quiet. I am using shoutcast server for windows x64 at my laptop, and i use mplayer as a client.

If you have better solutions that solve this problem, dont hesitate :)

If you're using the 3.5mm headphone socket then you'll need an amplifier since the power output is frankly pathetic even for 32ohm headphones.
To change the mixing levels run alsamixer and pump up the levels before audio starts to distort.
