I have been trying to set up a remote control for my Pi. I am running XBMC and Openelec on two cards but cannot get any remote control (TV remote, Wiimote & Original XBOX DVD remote) or CEC from an LG TV to work. I have read many a forum and followed many instruction but to no avail.
Has anyone definitive instructions to get a remote working??
many thanks in advance

Re: Definitive answer to Remote Control Please?
Isn't it likely that your TV doesn't support CEC after all that testing?

Re: Definitive answer to Remote Control Please?
Ok I think I have come to the conclusion that the TV is not CEC enabled but there must be a way of using a remote on either openelec/xbma or xbmc.
Thanks

Re: Definitive answer to Remote Control Please?
Yes there is I believe. You can use a CEC adaptor.
Here's a nice concise page that helps and provides a link to said adaptor. Unfortunately the adaptor is about as much as a Pi, but I do plan to get one soon and test it. My 9 year-old daughter needs her remote functionality!

Re: Definitive answer to Remote Control Please?
Probably the cheapest way is to attach an IR receiver to your RPi - then configure it to use one of your spare remotes.
Re: Definitive answer to Remote Control Please?
A good compromise between ease and price is an MCE remote - they're reasonably cheap on eBay and worked out the box for me.

Thanks, Will try the MCE remote and hope it works.
