Second, I am trying to understand why you have made it so difficult and cumbersome to get the desktop program installed.

I have to point I am 62 years old and maybe the age differential makes it impossible to communicate effectively.

I want to know point-blank why nobody at or associated with this foundation can create a simple executable for installing desktop software.

because that is not how Linux/Debian/RaspberryPi OS works.
You'll need to go back to how Linux distribution work and that history and annoyingly various throughout the different OSs. This isn't the easy common Windows setup.

The installable programs are .deb files
These actually can be double clicked on the RPI Desktops but they tend not to be available unless the company/software person provides it. and then you need an ARM version.. and then you need the .. yeah yeah get more specific .


The way most install is through 'A store' like Windows Store/Google Store/etc. but not as pretty as usable.

In your Raspberry menu there is a program to add programs, one is a basics recommend software, the other is a full apt manager providing you with everything Debian and RPi have to offer.
Unfortunately you have to know what you want and probably the specific name of it.

There is also the command line you can type it all out, the webpage of the program usually tells you how.

Yes a faff and ease of use is limited compared no windows.

FYI quite a lot of the knowledgable volunteers on here are older than you by some years. I'm just a few years younger than you.

Perhaps if you posted a coherent question with examples of what you mean?

Agreed...it's pretty amazing in the scope of attitude, language and a lack of clarity around what the actual problem is how far he's gotten with the Pi. I was tempted to reply to the post where the OP cited age and mention mine (I'm older than the OP is...by nearly a decade, and I'm *far* from the oldest regular here).
