Storage = Armazenamento

Wed Jun 24, 2020 11:00 pm

English,
Hello everyone, I'm starting now and I would like to know about storage.
Is the memory card installed on the Operating System the same as the storage for files and media?
Thank you very much to anyone who can answer me!

Português, Brasil,
Olá para todos, estou começando agora e gostaria de saber sobre armazenamento.
O cartão de memoria que é instalado o Sistema Operacional é o mesmo que faz o armazenamento de arquivos e mídias?
Muito obrigado a quem poder me responder!

Yes, when a Raspberry Pi is booted from an SD card with an OS on it, it is where everything is stored. However, you can connect USB drives for more storage. With certain models you can even boot from a USB drive, like a flash drive, SSD or HDD.

USB booting is fully enabled on the Pi 3B+ model out of the box, and can be easily enabled on the 3B and 2Bv1.2 models. That feature just came out of beta on the Pi 4B, but is not supported in the current Raspberry Pi OS images (you have to update the OS and bootloader).
My mind is like a browser. 27 tabs are open, 9 aren't responding,
lots of pop-ups...and where is that annoying music coming from?

And what about the memory card which would be the best performance for him an A2 or A1? Thank you very much for the explanation !!

No Raspberry Pi computer is A2 complaint at the moment, so A1 is best at this time (A2 will work, it just won't be any faster).

It might be possible to update the Pi 4B, because it has upgradeable firmware, but there has been no official word if this will be done, or even if it's something they are working on. Also, depending on how much storage you need, an SSD could be cheaper, with much better performance than an A1 or A2 card (even if A2 was supported).

The SanDisk Ultra A1 micro SD cards offer very good performance at affordable prices, and they have been reliable for me.
