Hi folks, I'm rigging up a Pi4/Pi Camera duo to use in astrophotography, and I'm planning on bolting the camera right to the top of the Pi 4 case and using it as a guide cam in addition to other astro duties in one contained package.

So my question is really about the connecting ribbon from the camera to the Pi 4. Is it possible to cut a short piece of it and still use it? If not, where could I order a shorter ribbon with the same connections? I'm only going to need about 3-4 inches max within the case.

No. As above, cables in various lengths are readily available commercially. When you examine a cable, you should be able to see why just cutting it to a convenient length won't work.

OK guys thanks for the info. I'm raw to all this, so I wasn't sure how pliable the tech is.
