I have a couple of spare Pi3 Model B V1.2 sitting around doing nothing and was thinking to build a basic CCTV system for my home. I am mainly looking just to cover the back door and the front door so dont need lots of cameras.
Any suggestions on how to best accomplish this and please bear in mind I am quite new to this!
Thanks in advance guys and girls.

Re: Basic CCTV ?
My Suggestion would be to take a look at MotionEyeOS.
It could at least give you some ideas on what you would like to do/use.

RPI3B+ - Raspberry Pi OS -general "playing" and/or RetroPi
RPI0W#1 - MotionEyeOS - yard surveillance
RPI0W#2 - Driveway gate monitor - coming soon
RPI0W#3 - ?????

Re: Basic CCTV ?
I have on one RPI3b with raspibian used for home automation with 16 relays: garage doors, outlets, heating ... and CCTV with one USB camera running Motion for few years.
It record on motion detection and alert me by email and I can access camera any time from LAN on www interface.
No problems in 4 years.
