IPfire installation on Rpi3 modelB

Mon Mar 30, 2020 12:09 pm

Hi !
I have some problems with IPfire installation on a Raspberry Pi 3 model B.
I used Etcher and ApplePi Baker, and tried several times to flash an SD Card with different ARM versions of IPfire.
Without success... every time, the system boot, re-boot and finally stay blocked on the four logos of IPfire...
I can't reach installation part.... :?

An idea ?

Thanks.

Alway best practice to ask the developers to fix issues with THEIR software:

Rather than negativity think outside the box !
RPi 4B 4GB (SSD Boot)..
Asus ChromeBox 3 Celeron is my other computer...

OK... i found the solution.

IPFire installation :
*******************

If you plan on using the HDMI output and USB Keyboard.
You need to edit the ‘uENV.txt’ file on the flashed SD Card you flashed and plan
to use and change it as shown below :

SERIAL-CONSOLE=ON
To
SERIAL-CONSOLE=OFF

And that's all... ipfire is booting... whaooooouu ! :D :D :D

Hi.

Can you tell us the network speed ?

I have a rasp2, with ipfire working.
In red, I have GREEN network adapter USB 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet, USB 3.0 to RJ45 Ethernet Giga
The green with The raspberry 2, network works to 100Mb.

The rasp4, network must work to 1Gb speed, so I would like to know if the network speed can be to 1GB.
If my internet connection is 300/300Mb will the rasp4 decrease my internet connection?

Thank you
