vague...

please clarify....
"Don't come to me with 'issues' for I don't know how to deal with those
Come to me with 'problems' and I'll help you find solutions"

Some people be like:
"Help me! Am drowning! But dont you dare touch me nor come near me!"

Whats the actual problem, you have put I have a problem,
heres some fixes:
turn it off and on again
reboot
pull out the psu and turn it on again
break and fix your mains power socket
done

Reply with a better explanation
Running Raspberry Pi OS Full, therefore my comments will be based on that
Using RPI-4B 4GB at 2.1GHz CPU and 700MHz GPU
don't format your sd because someone said so.
Or put your favourite cutlery into your nearest outlet (May result in death) ;)

I had this so messed up that I actually just restored the os. I am not sure how it happened. I accidentally removed the icon of the menu bar. I tried to find out how to put it back and followed some advice on the internet. I got an icon back but it was not the same one I had and it was telling me that I was not connected even though I was. I got worse from there. I have been using Linux for a while now with no issues but I don’t know enough to get out of trouble when I get my self in. I am surprise that I could get things so messed up just trying to get my network manager icon back up on the menu bar. Bottom line is the restore fixed it. Is there a way to restore Linux through a backup?

Several, but they all require you to find AND USE a suitable method for making a backup first.

Search, and you will find. (Raspbian has a built-in purpose-made utility for backing up SDCards, plus two or three recent third party releases discussed on this forum.)
