Raspberry Pi Zero power supply

Tue Mar 03, 2020 6:41 am

I can see there is a separate micro USB port for power supply but can I use Zero with the power supplied in the micro USB OTG port ?

Although only one USB port has the data lines connected, so only that one can be used for interfacing with the Pi, both have power and ground connected directly to the Pi's power rails, so either can be used to provide power.

In fact, if you plug your Zero into your laptop as a gadget, that's how it gets powered.

Thank you very much for the information.
Yes I am planning to get the power from my laptop or desktop PC. I am going to turn this thing into crypto h/w wallet so...

Have a look see at this, https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/zer ... connector It may make things more compact. Putting it in a case may be a bit of bother though.
