Running Raspbian on Windows 10 with RPi SD card

Thu Feb 06, 2020 9:30 am

First of all, I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong place. I ran a search for my topic and didn't find it. I've failed miserably at what I'm trying to do with every search parameter in youtube and google I can imagine. I'm EXTREMELY new at this. I barely know how to use a command prompt and my new Raspberry Pi is in the mail. I bought an SD card today and (as far as I know) wrote the image successfully onto a 64GB SD card that I formatted to FAT32. Now, what I'd like to do, is run the Raspbian OS on Windows 10 directly from the very same SD card that I will be using on my Pi... for OCD reasons I guess? Can I make a virtual machine and do that? If so, how? If not, is there another way? I really don't want to let this beat me, but I'm about at the end of my rope. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

IDK if this is still possible, but the keyword your searches was missing is "QEMU".
