RGB Led Strip and motion detection?

Hi,

I recently bought an RGB Signal Amplifier (https://alexnld.com/product/data-repeat ... H0QAvD_BwE) to be able to control an RGB led strip with my raspberry pi.

Anyway, I would actually like to control the strip with my Pi and at the same time be able to turn a specific color on when motion is detected. Is this possible? And if yes, how can I establish this? I'm pretty new to this.

What LED strip have you bought? Some are much easier to drive from the Pi (e.g. APA102 based strips are easy).

How do you plan to detect motion? PIR sensor?
