hey currently my pi4 is set up to choose betwen raspbian and kodi. Now i want to add a third boot option and boot into raspbian and boot up retro pie. i was following this https://www.tomshardware.com/news/raspb ... 40102.html but am confused how i would do it and still have my three boot options
thanks
edit: or how cna i install that retropie onto my current raspbian and just open it like a program but not have it auto boot into retro pie

Re: need help with a 3rd booth option
If you're using NOOBS as a multi-boot manager then you're stuck.
You can't add a third OS to an SDCard with two existing OSes without trashing EVERYTHING and starting clean from the NOOBS recovery system.
The choices you made at first boot is fixed.

Re: need help with a 3rd booth option
how about 3-microSD card option, each microSD card having the OS of your choice....
1 card for Raspbian (latest?)
1 card for Kodi (this probably mean LibreElect)
1 card for another OS (most likey retropie or other gaming setup). these setups usually require minimum 64GB....
.....
...........
..................
and another card for another OS of your liking
and so on and so forth
one good thing about this type of setup.... if one microSD card fails.... only 1 system fails
and easier to make smaller backups.
on your multi-boot setup.... if that single microSD card fails.... all system fails!!!
just imagine the nightmare of that failing.... including the loss of setup configurations and some important data....
the the time required to rebuild the system from scratch.

Re: need help with a 3rd booth option
thanks for the reply so instead of making a third boot how do i just install retro pie onto my current raspbian and just open it as an app is that possible?
im not getting 3 sd cards as i dont care that much i have an android box for kodi i only installed it cuz i figured why not i havent used it yet. and as for the desktop portion its mostly for internet usage so if it failed oh well. my current sd card is 64 gb i dont have a lot of roms i want to stick on there so this is more then enough

If you insist on sticking with NOOBS then replacing it with PINN makes sense.
