Help installing Netflix on PI3

Tue Oct 22, 2019 1:53 pm

Hello ,
I'm using PI3
with this version install :
PRETTY_NAME="Raspbian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch)"
NAME="Raspbian GNU/Linux"
VERSION_ID="9"
VERSION="9 (stretch)"
VERSION_CODENAME=stretch
ID=raspbian
ID_LIKE=debian
HOME_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/"
SUPPORT_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianForums"
BUG_REPORT_URL="http://www.raspbian.org/RaspbianBugs"
Chromium version:
Version 72.0.3626.121 (Official Build) Built on Raspbian , running on Raspbian 9.11 (32-bit)
I'm looking for a guide that will make Netflix work with this setting
all I have found is for Chromium version 74

but I can't seem to upgrage the Chromium to this version

does someone else heve this problem ?
what can I do , and how can I fix this ?

Thanks ,

Something is not working for me ,
this is what i did :
1. download and install Vivaldi Linux DEB ARM,
2. added the User-agent as it said
3. try to make it run in Chromuim and in the Vivaldi browsers
get the same error

why?

I have notice that it said :
AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/69.0.3497.102 Safari/537.36
and the version of the chromuim is 72
maybe this is the problem?

also it doesn't say how to install Widevine

can you help me find a solution for this ?

it's getting very frustrated.....

Thanks ,

Until Netflix do not require Secure Boot / DRM it will be frustrating, take it out on Netflix not here in this Voluntarily run Forum.

This may give you some pointers:

If not go Googling...........

The first response had a link to install Vivaldi Browser !!

Raspbian Stretch has been superseded, Raspbian Buster since June has been the supported Operating System.

1. I know -I install it , opened it , enter Netflix website - and got the same error. so it didn't help - I mention this .
2. so you think that if I will upgrage the PI from Stretch to Buster it might work ?
I have all kind of other programs that are running on the pi right now , will they still work?
do I need to make a fresh new installation for this ? ot there is a way to just upgrage?

Thanks ,
