Raspberry Pi, Bluetooth Beacon Project. IoT.

Thu Aug 29, 2019 11:45 pm

I want to build a demo system that allows me to track bluetooth beacon with multiple Raspberry Pi's (used as scanners for the beacons, located in different rooms) and alarm when the person leaves raspberry pi scan area. Any tutorials on projects similar to this? I'm beginner so all tutorials will be much appreciated :D

A Google for 'Raspberry Pi beacon presence detection' brings up quite a few.

You need a "master" that can gather information from your Raspberry Pi "clients", that are all reporting back which beacons they see.
The job of the master is to monitor that a specific beacon is not longer in the covered area, and then raise an alarm.
The job of the clients are to report the detected beacons to the master.
Python can do all this (as can several other programming languages), so I guess it gets down to breaking down the project into manageable parts. And then start googling the parts you need.
