Audio Reactive Led Strip

Fri Jul 26, 2019 9:43 pm

So I'm making an audio reactive led strip as my first project and I was stuck at this "Connect GND on the power supply to GND on the LED strip and GND on the Raspberry Pi (they MUST share a common GND connection)". What is GND? How do I connect the power supply to the LED strip AND the pi? Could someone explain it better or if you're super cool create like a diagram of it? Thanks! :D

GND (or Ground) is also commonly known as 0V. You can find several pins marked as this on the GPIO connector on the Pi. Any of them will do as they are all connected together.

the ground is the common negative terminal for all your gpio circuitry.

you ensure that you have a common ground reference when using power from different sources for your pi and any devices it controls by connecting all the grounds together .

When in doubt ask..
