some basic questions open CV

Sat May 18, 2019 10:04 pm

Hello,

I successfully installed OpenCV 3.3.0 but i don't know how to use it yet.

Are there tutorials that go into how to start a project or where to find examples and how to use them?

My goal is to learn my pi to recognize faces but that's still a long way to go, some tips to get me in a straight learning direction would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

A technical intro is on the Open CV manual pages https://www.docs.opencv.org/2.4/modules ... orial.html but a bit simpler walkthrough is at https://hackernoon.com/face-recognition ... a97cd89847

Something simpler may be character recognition as it is more under your control with a printer

i'm just looking for a way to make the first tests.

My setup now :

RaspberryPI 3 B+
Raspbian stretch
openCV 3.3.0
python 3

a clean install on a 32GB SDcard

Its on a screen mouse and keyboard but also connected with PuttY trough SSH

i use the raspberry Pi camera V1.3

INSIDE the virtual enviroment:

(cv)[email protected]:\~
import cv
...the version gives 3.3.0.

To start somewhere
how do i test my camera from here?
is there a testcode in the libraries i imported yesterday?
how do i use them ?
Is there a text edittor to use?
is there a way to cut and paste code

those are my first questions,

I was hoping there is some specific information about that,
im a little worried about the tutorial i was pointed to....

Code: Select all
