I want to auto run VLC player on a PI zero.

Wed May 01, 2019 9:09 am

Hi guys and girls,

I’m a really noobie and saw the raspb. zero couple days ago. I have a video witch have to be automatic start when i power on Raspb.Zero. The video content is in SD card (it was little tricky but is in there now). Folder path is home/pi/videos/. There is no option for the usb stick, ’cause customer dosent have a time to plug that stick.

I saw in rasbian theres a vlc player, so the question is; is there chance to use that and could some one help me with the code?

In briefly:
Power on, one video will start to play with loop option.

Any help is needed and I really appreciate it very much. Thanks a lot.😊

Forget VLC on the Pi Zero. Use omxplayer.
omxplayer --loop /home/pi/video/myvideo.mp4
Minimal Kiosk Browser (kweb)
Slim, fast webkit browser with support for audio+video+playlists+youtube+pdf+download
Optional fullscreen kiosk mode and command interface for embedded applications
Includes omxplayerGUI, an X front end for omxplayer
