Changing the auto-mount permissions

Sun Nov 25, 2012 8:58 am

Hi,
I'm using rasbian.
I saw that the automount of HD gives full permissions to the owner and nothing to other:
-rwx------

How can I change it?
I need to change it because I can't share this drive in samba while there are no permissions.

Thanks.

I am a wee bit unsure what you are asking.

chmod 775 /x/y
puts permissions on /x/y

7 -> rwx
5 -> r-x
0 -> ---

Are you trying to get the automount to set the permissions? or to do it manually yourself?

I just think that samba wants the permissions to be for "other".
I can't change the permissions of files / directories in the NTFS drive.

That looks like when you imported the disk from the other machine that you dont have permissions on the directory.

What are you mounting from where and I might be able to comment?

I just connected a NTFS 1TB Hard-Drive to my raspberry.
All the files were created by windows.
Even if I'll create a new folder from the pi, it will be created with the same permissions.
