Is VNC Connection Secure from Laptop to RPi3B+?

Fri Feb 08, 2019 4:03 am

1) On my RPi3B+, (SSH and VNC) are enabled in Config.
2) On my Laptop, (SSH + PuTTY + VNC) are down loaded.
3) I start SSH session via PuTTY per my RPi3B+ Name.
4) I start VNC per my RPi3B+ (Name + Login + PW).
Question:
Is the VNC connection protected/Tunneled through SSH by the sequence (1 thru 4) above?
THANK YOU!

Anything tunnelled through ssh is secure.

AFAIK VNC connection across a LAN is not going thru any tunnel - its a simple TCP port connection

No!

As you can easily tell because on connection a popup appears saying "Unsecured connection"

There is an preference to enable encryption with 5 options (although I have never used it). I presume this is sticky.
