How to add files on the SD card with the ISO on it?

Sun Oct 21, 2018 2:58 pm

I want to store media files on my Raspberry Pi Zero's microSD card which are on my PC. Is there any way that I can store media files on the same SD card using my PC. (after I'm done putting the disk image of Raspbian for example and then adding media files which I will view in my Raspberry once booted up)
Thank you in advanced.

Not easily, because Windows applies the "not invented here" rule to the Linux filesystems and won't recognise them or mount them for normal use.

Move files from Windows to Linux using a USB stick, or a USB hard disk. Or make your Raspberry run a SAMBA/CIFS server and mount that shared filesystem on your Windows machine.

If I'm using SAMBA and I don't connect a USB Pen-drive it will store it to the micro-SD card right?
Thanks in advanced

It depends how you configure SAMBA.

Set up your Pi to permit ssh access. Either set the Pi0 to use "gadget mode" and connect it to your PC, or use a USB to Ethernet adapter and connect it to the same LAN the PC is on. Install PuTTY and pscp on your PC. Use pscp to transfer the files from the PC to the Pi over whichever link you're using.

Just make sure the SD card has enough space for the files.
