I just messed up my fstab!

I was messing around and trying to get my Pi to use a USB correctly. I went into the fstab and added a line to create a mounting point for the USB and when I rebooted I was met with something along the lines of "Emergency Mode" "root locked". How could I fix this other than just wiping the SD and starting new?

One way:
  • Get another SD card
  • Install raspbian on it
  • Boot from the new SD card
  • Using a USB card reader connect and mount the old card
  • Edit and save fstab on the broken card
  • Shutdown, swap cards and reboot

Having a usb-SD card reader or a PC/lap-top with inbuilt reader gives you some options at least.
And if you burned the SD card yourself it seems like you have such a thing.

So if the PC in question is a windows machine, it might be the easiest to maybe boot a Live Linux and then use that to fix the file.
( The Pi Linux Desktop for PC/MAC booted from a memstick could be a good Linux to test : https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/r ... i-desktop/ )
