format usb HDD to f2fs

Tue Sep 18, 2018 5:04 am

I'm attempting to setup a bitcoin node on my rPi3. I have an external usb HDD (ext4) where i've been attempting to sync the blockchain. I've been having some issues (firstly its taking a long time, but now i'm seeing these messages like "LevelDB read failure: Corruption: block checksum mismatch:"). I've read in a few places that "Flash Friendly File System (f2fs) instead of the Linux ext4 file system".

Could someone guide me on how i can format my usb to f2fs? Do i need to plug into a different machine? or can i do it while its plugged into the pi itself?

If you actually have an usb Hard Disk Drive you probably should not install a filesystem meant for flash.
