Cannot Login To Raspberry Pi 3B+ Running Raspbian Stretch Lite with US Keyboard

Wed Jun 13, 2018 6:53 pm

I purchased a pre-made Raspbian Stretch Lite micro sd card and unable to login because the column of letters containing "s" on my US keyboard does not work. The keyboard and RasbiPi 3B+ work fine with raspbian regular version. Because of this, I can't type anything with "s" in it, i.e. sudo. Is there a file in the sd card that I can change so that it interprets the keyboard to recognize "s"? I am not entirely uncomfortable with cl but I am a noob.

I suggest you download Stretch lite and reflash the card.

Have you gone into raspi-config (either command line or the GUI wrapper on the desktop) to set your keyboard? Hint...the default keyboard for Raspbian is UK.
