Rasberry Pi 3 Model B - cost about £32.
Kit cost about £50 - includes 16GB SD class 10 with OS installed + case + charger.
I can save a pound or 2 buying separate - but is it worth it?
No! Don't assume that!charger: assuming ANY usb charger will be ok?
From: https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/raspbe ... le-now-35/Note that Raspberry Pi 3B+ does consume substantially more power than its predecessor. We strongly encourage you to use a high-quality 2.5A power supply, such as the official Raspberry Pi Universal Power Supply.
If your buying an adapter, do as suggested and get a good quality 5v 2.5 amp unit.
