Newbie question - Raspbian Jessie

Mon Apr 16, 2018 7:55 am

Hi,

Am keen to get going with a new project, and need some guidance please.

I downloaded the full "Noobs" zip under the download section, and have successfully installed, and connected to wife.

There is a project that I am keen to work on that requires Raspbian Jessie - does the download that I have, have Raspbian Jessie, or is that a completely different download ?

Appreciate your assistance

Thanks

Since August 2017 Raspbian Stretch is the default and supported Operating System, look for a newer tutorial / blog ;)

Should I ask how you connected your RPi to your wife or is that too personal?

You can get Jessie here, http://downloads.raspberrypi.org/raspbian/images/ if you really need it. ;)

It might be a good idea to post a link to the project page you wish to follow, then someone might be able to tell you if it would also work if you used raspbian stretch instead of raspbian jessie.

that is the installation for:
sudo apt install motion
and setup web server.
( for the use with USB camera!! )
so you just should try it + also on stretch +

you might consider not to start with motion,
like why not try a simple camera tool first.
lsusb you find it?
sudo apt install qv4l2 you see it?

pls copy all commands // best also all terminal content like from install ...//
so if you have problems // or just have to do it again later // you are prepared.
because if you come back here with
ITs NOT WORKING
without good documentation what you have done......
expect no good answer.

Worked like a charm

Ran into an issue the first time, but that was due to the time being incorrect, and as soon as I updated it, it worked..
