No success with either dd or Etcher

Sat Apr 14, 2018 5:47 pm

HI,

I just transfered the openwrt image with dd using command

Code: Select all

sudo dd if=lede-17.01.4-brcm2708-bcm2709-rpi-2-ext4-sdcard.img of=/dev/sdb bs=2M conv=fsync
and it got stuck on the colourfull rainbow screen but this problem is not limited to openwrt. In fact I was never able to boot any image other than the noobs installer. I can mount the SD card on PC and can see the files transferred to SD card including kernel.img Tried Etcher same result.

Any ideas whats wrong with my Pi2 ?

If you can install and boot the NOOBS Installer, maybe there is nothing wrong with your RPi 2.

Maybe there is a problem with:

The image(s) you have downloaded. (Have you compared checksums on the downloaded files to be sure of their integrity?)

The target SD card you are writing to.

The card reader/writer you are using to write the card.

What happens if you try plain Raspbian 2018-03-13 on a fresh new 8GB SDCard?

I give up. I have reinstalled libreelec using the Noobs installer.

Will be using the Pi with a TV.
