Forward [ip address] port 23 to Localhost port xxx

Fri Feb 09, 2018 6:36 pm

Hi,
could you Linux geeks help me?

I must use a blackbox program, that expects data to arrive on Localhost port xxx. (from ser2net)
My data source is another intranet address, port 23.

Can i manage that without programming?
if yes, how?
If no, what would have been the easiest way to manage it?

Thank you

You mean it connects to port 23 or the source port is 23?

Is it a TCP/IP connection or UDP packets?

You might be able to set up an ssh tunnel.

It is hard to tell exactly what your actual setup is, so hard to give specific advice.

That said, you probably want to do:

# apt-get install redir

and then figure out how to make it (the redir program) do what you need.

The data source fom IP 192.168.x.y provides the info on port 23, to which the raspi should connect to provide in turn the info on its own 192.168.x.z a.k.a 127.0.0.1 port 3030.
Everything is in a private network.
Is it a TCP/IP connection or UDP packets?
I am programming the source (a Wemos-D1 ESP8266), that one has provision to send/receive UDP / TCP packets to the Raspi.
finally the requires raspi functionality should proxy the packets to/from its own port 3030, like ser2net would have done with a RAW serial connection.
