SD card formatter 4 no longer exists?

Sat Jan 20, 2018 12:30 am

Installation instructions point us to an SD card formatter for Windows at this link:

https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/

However, that takes us to version *5* of the formatter. All well and good, except that *5* does not offer the "size adjustment" option. Should I be concerned?

For what it's worth, I'm a typical programmer and therefore read the documentation only after installing an OS - and I'd already selected "quick format" rather than overwriting the entire SD. All seems well so far. Could there be lurking issues because I didn't overwrite?

version 5 defaults to resize.
now the only thing you can do "wrong" is to use quick format.

which I did, though so far I have not seen any consequences.

Quick format works fine as long as you don't need to securely erase old data. Overwrite format is not required to recover the original card size.
My mind is like a browser. 27 tabs are open, 9 aren't responding,
lots of pop-ups...and where is that annoying music coming from?
