monitor

Sat Oct 13, 2012 3:56 pm

I have just discovered that I need a HDMI monitor
I have plugged in to the HDMI bit of my tv but the screen is pink and has lines across which is making it impossible to read. I have just plugged into my HDMI monitor and am still having the same problem. What do I do now?

thanks for any useful information

Sounds a bit like a dodgy lead- have you another you can try?

It's also worth a try to add
config_hdmi_boost=7 to config.txt (put SD card in Windows machine, make file called config.txt, contents of file should be config_hdmi_boost=7)
{sig} Setup: Original version Raspberry Pi (B, rev1, 256MB), Dell 2001FP monitor (1600x1200), 8GB Class 4 SD Card with Raspbian and XBMC, DD-WRT wireless bridge

There has been at least one user who had their Pi in a case which was preventing the particular HDMI cable being used from going in all the way.

Thanks for replies so far.
New problem - have just tried another hdmi cable and now get black screen with white writing (whoopee) but new error and cannot sign in (I could before)

Error message -
EXT4_fs error (device mmcb1k0pz) : ext4_lookup:1044
This message is constantly repeated and fills the page. I am using same keyboard and mouse.

I am apparently using Debian GMU/Linux 6.0.

Thanks
