download of NOOBS 2.4.4 stalls

Mon Nov 20, 2017 1:01 pm

Hi, I have this magnificent Pi Zero, and want to download te latest NOOBS, but that does not work..

the download stops after 10-50 MB, and then it tells me nothing or there was a network error...
I have tried different things. other browser, direct on my modem, and even with different computers, and at the home of a friend..
Tried since last friday, and at different times of the day..
but still it stalls..
anything wrong with the servers? raspberrypi.org is responsive. or is there much load on them.

Best,

Just tried it myself and it downloads without problems.
Have you tried using the torrent?

When this happened to me before, I just switched to using torrents. Much better.

Or you could switch to using PINN. Much, much better.

Or you could try (for experts only!) installing Raspbian directly - using Win32DiskImager or similar.

Best,

If you only want Raspbian then forget NobS.

Etcher can unzip and write the Raspbian Download:

https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspbian/

https://etcher.io/

IMO Noobs / PiNN are ideal for people who want something more than just one operating sysyem...

Etcher is far superior to W32DI....

I always use torrents. They are more reliable (error checking on each packet), and often much faster.

you should also use a Download Manager like Free Download Manager(windows), wget,aria2,axel (linux) or just torrent (transmission) it is not illegal to torrent legal materials
