mobile power supply

Fri Nov 10, 2017 3:48 pm

Hi,

I'm almost in the field testing phase and thinking about power supply other than the 220v adapter that came with the Rpi 3.

I've been reading stuff about 4x rechargeable 1.5v batteries, for which i have a housing, but comments are contradictory.
I also have a powerbank that has 2x "5v output", 2A, with micro usb cable. I assume that plugs into the same place as the 220v adapter.

Which way should i go ?

thx,
Paul

I use this to power my Raspberry Pi 3 and Display, and it works great!

Thx for all this info. For the first "production" version i will be needing one of these.

During my beta period, i will be using an old one of 6.000 mAh that i have lying around.
It will allow me to assess its battery life and extrapolate to what i really need.

I assume though, that the stuff you use has influence on the consumption rate.
My most consuming devices in this application would be an 16x2 lcd and a buzzer.
Let's test !
