Ubuntu Core 16 image for Raspberry Pi 3 (stable) -> Booting to a Desktop

Tue Oct 31, 2017 9:02 pm

Greetings,

I am using the plain jane Ubuntu Core 16 image for Raspberry Pi 3 (stable) image on a 64GB microSD card (and a Raspberry Pi 3, of course). I've installed MATE desktop at the moment (might go with something else), and enough of X that I can use TightVNCServer to give myself a nice desktop remotely (though I seem to be lacking a few apps). What I'd like to do is, on the Pi itself, instead of displaying the usual "To login: ssh username@192.168.1.x. Personalize your account at https://www.login.ubuntu.com," instead boot to a logon screen, or a desktop. However, I do not know what files I need to edit, or what to change.

Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks
