raspberry pi for monitoring car pids

Hey I was looking at 2 different raspberry pi on craigs list the links are as follows, I prefer poissibly the first one as it comes with a screen.

https://abbotsford.craigslist.ca/ele/d/ ... 00200.html
I am wanting to get one of the OBD2 dongles and hook up via blue tooth, I want to be able to read and clear codes, read different pids (oil temp, trans temp, coolant temp, rpm, to name a few). Will either of those 2 options work? I'm wanting the screen so I can have the pids there while the vehicle is being operated. That being said is it possible if I got the retro pie one to be able to use the roms and a datalogger/code reader on the same unti. Like if I'm in a ferry line up I could turn off the data and play some SNES or something?
Thanks for the help!!
