running a package

Mon Oct 01, 2012 5:19 pm

Ok , sp im new to this. Got my Pi all set up and working fine.

I have bought the book from eben about the raspberry Pi, and im just going through it.

I have a question. Part iof the tutorial goes through how to use apt-get to get an old commodore 64 game called thrust.

Ive managed to install the game just fine. It all appearsa to download fine. But how do i actually run it once installed? I looked through the startx system and could find ti.

Any help appreciated.

I think (i am a total noob too)

you just type the name of the application to terminal...

As i installed a screen keyboard application called Matchbox-Keyboard... Typed that and it started...

Thanks. I actually double posted this, in the new Linux users section. Apologies.

Anyway, thankyou. I thought it worked like

Sudo apt-get install somestuff

Somestuff

Probably a bit more to it than meets the eye. I did get another game working though. Penguinpuzzles. Now that worked as I expected.
