RaspberryPi Not responding?

Hello all,
I recently picked up a Raspberry Pi at the World Maker Faire and had a little bit of an issue.
When I plug my raspberry pi into a tv nothing comes up and the TV displays "No Signal"
Here is what i did before pluging it in:
1. Went to the Downloads page, downloaded wheezy-raspbian, ran it through disk imager and put it on a 8gb speed 6 SD card
2. Put in the SD card and Plugged in the Pi through the yellow composite port and the micro-USB port using a 5.1v 750mA Smartphone charger (Also a wireless keyboard and mouse)
3. The PWR light lit up red and when i turned on the TV nothing happened
4. I decided to try a different TV and had the same issue and then tried the hdmi output and still nothing.

Please tell me what i am doing wrong because im sure, knowing me it is something simple that i overlooked. One detail i forgot to include is that i used my Go-Pro Camera as an SD reader just because i don't have an SD card reader, but i cant imagine that changing anything.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

When you boot the Pi you should get some flashes on the OK/Activity LED as the Pi reads its boot files from the card. If that is not happening then your problem may well have been with writing the OS image correctly to the card. Unlike something like a PC, the Pi has no Bios and will not output any video signal until it has at least successfully read the initial boot file from the SD card.

Talk us through exactly how you put the image on the SD card. Using a camera sounds distinctly dodgy to me. My camera certainly won't write a raw image to the card within it. It's own file system gets in the way. The object of the exercise is not to have a copy of the image file on the SD card as a file. When its done you should have two partitions with a whole load of files in each. If you're using windoze, you'll only be able to see one of them, Linux can see both. And as the previous poster says, if the Pi can't find the boot partition, it doesn't do anything at all.
