Questions abount raspberry pi

Tue May 30, 2017 10:46 pm

1) Obviously because you wouldn't want to get your raspberry pi wet, is it possible to transport data wirelessly? I was thinking I could update data to a website but well... That will just cost more and use up more of my time! Is there any sort of thing I can use to connect two gpio boards? for example say I had one in my backyard! and one in my house 30-40foot can this be done? If not a wire would be fine but I heard they have their limits?

2) Is there a replacement for breadboards, I don't want to have to keep using them, I want something I can solder on to? Is there some sort of replacement.

3) I have a linux ubuntu computer, I want to kind of make that the hub for all the data, is it possible I can also get the data to a computer, at this stage I think it may be better just hosting a website, anyway thanks!

1. Wi-Fi should manage 40 feet OK.

2. Yes there are alternatives to breadboards. Soldering to stripboards etc has been going on for decades before RPis saw the light of day.

3. Yes you can get data to another computer running just about any OS.
