Hello to everybody,
I'm new with programming, RaspberryPi and this forum(so sorry if I'm posting in the worng place).
Anyway I have to setup for the first time my raspberryPi, but I don't have a keyboard and a monitor, then I wanted to do it with SSH using an ethernet cable and a router. It's the first time that I trun on the platform, so I copied the image on the sdcard and I added tan empty file called "SSH".
Can someone give me any advice or redirect me to a good guide? because I found so many pages that I got lost.
I'm using window 10.

Re: RaspberryPI SSH with Ethernet cable
The first step is to get an Operating System installed and running on your RPi. This is not simply a matter of copying an image to the microSD card.

Thank you for your answers, and sorry if I answer late, but I didn't receive any notify by email.
Anyway, I have laredy flashed the SDcard with raspbian. And I have alredy Putty.
To give you a more clear idea, I have a router in which I have attached my laptop by an ethernet cable (it's useless as info, but it is connected to internet with wifi) and the rspberrypi connected by ethernet cable as well.
My problem is that now I don't know what should I do, because I don't know how discover the ip address of my board

As your RPi is connrcted to a Roiter then your Router Admin Page will show IP addressing.domsca wrote:Thank you for your answers, and sorry if I answer late, but I didn't receive any notify by email.

Also you need to enable SSH in Radpbian:

How can I find my admin router page?
The router that i'm using to connect the two devices doesn't have any acces to internet, it's not the same one that i use to connent my computer to internet with wifi.

Re: RaspberryPI SSH with Ethernet cable
If I understand correctly you have your computer connected to two routers. One router connects your computer to the internet and another router connects your RPi to the computer.domsca wrote:How can I find my admin router page?

If that is correct, you are making unnecessary difficulty for yourself. Why?

Yes, because I'm using the wifi of the university, so I cannot access phisically to the router of my internet connection.drgeoff wrote:If I understand correctly you have your computer connected to two routers. Yestarday I was trying to do it without another router, just connecting directly my laptop to the RPi but I had more problems since I had to make a local border router running on my laptop
