Handheld Console Making/Case

Wed Apr 26, 2017 4:58 pm

I'm fairly new to the Raspberry Pi. I recently got a Model A+ and successfully made a retro gaming console with RetroPie. The next thing I want to do is use a Pi Zero to make a handheld gaming console. How hard would this be? It would run on a lithium ion battery, use a small non-touchscreen LCD screen, and use a striped down SNES USB controller for inputs. The OS would be RetroPie.

Also, what could I use to make the case? I would only want to use a 3D printed case as a last resort as I don't have a 3D printer.

You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.
When General Failure and Major Disaster get together, Private Parts usually suffers.

Similar, but I've actually decided on a Gameboy-like layout for it. The internals would be a Raspberry Pi Zero Wireless (With GPIO pin attachment), a non-touchscreen LCD monitor (connected with GPIO pins), a stripped down USB NES controller, and a lithium ion battery /w low battery LED.
