Access Point problem

Fri Dec 16, 2016 7:45 am

Hi, I'm using Rpi3 and wants to create an AP for my system but it just didn't work out.

This is the website i used to create my AP: https://frillip.com/using-your-raspberr ... h-hostapd/
However, after completing all the codings, there is no 'Pi3-AP' in my network.
When i manually activate using 'sudo /usr/sbin/hostapd /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf"
there is Pi3-AP but no connection.

Someone please help me!!

This are some results i took when i program.
Before configuring DNSMASQ

Code: Select all

[email protected]:~ $ sudo /usr/sbin/hostapd /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf
Configuration file: /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf
Failed to create interface mon.wlan0: -95 (Operation not supported)
wlan0: Could not connect to kernel driver
Using interface wlan0 with hwaddr b8:27:eb:1c:e7:0e and ssid "Pi3-AP"
wlan0: interface state UNINITIALIZED->ENABLED
wlan0: AP-ENABLED
After everything

Code: Select all

[email protected]:~ $ sudo /usr/sbin/hostapd /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf
Configuration file: /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf
Failed to create interface mon.wlan0: -95 (Operation not supported)
wlan0: Could not connect to kernel driver
Using interface wlan0 with hwaddr b8:27:eb:1c:e7:0e and ssid "Pi3-AP"
random: Only 17/20 bytes of strong random data available from /dev/random
random: Not enough entropy pool available for secure operations
WPA: Not enough entropy in random pool for secure operations - update keys later when the first station connects
wlan0: interface state UNINITIALIZED->ENABLED
wlan0: AP-ENABLED

@jackson43 try dietpi. It should "just work" after you install wifi-hotspot from dietpi-software.
