Where to publish project, and how?

I have finished a Pi project, which uses a Pi to control a remote controller for an Endless Pool, allowing the pool to be used for interval training.

I would like to publish details, but have 2 questions.

1. How do you produce those little wiring diagrams that people publish on these forums?

2. Which forum to publish on? The forums seem to be more orientated to helping, rather than how to do it.

Thanks,

CJ

Use github for the actual storage. Add a decent README.md so its nicely promoted, post a link and description here.

No idea about diagrams!

Some of the diagrams are produce using Fritzing. It is available for install in Raspbian.

Thank you both. Have opened a GitHub repository, and Fritzing looks just the thing.
Incidentally, rpdom, you provided the advice I needed to get my optocouplers in line - they form the heart of this project. Your advice is much appreciated,

Cheers,

CJ

Diagrams can be created using LibreOffice Draw. Then export to .gif or .jpg These image files can also be uploaded to github, or integrated into a github wiki for your project.

Candyjet,
Really interested in your endless pool project.
Seems incomplete on github - did you finish it?
I am trying to achieve the same ends (or rather endless).
Thanks

Amazed that you're still following this!

I have a working model, using touchscreen to enter the program, but basically it is pretty simple.

You need 2 optocouplers 4N25, protected by 180 ohm resistors. They act as relays and you need to solder them across the S1 and S2 switches on the pool controller. Use timed GPIO output to replace the button press.

I have not had time to update the GitHub instructions, but can possibly post code and a simple circuit diagram.

If you live near Essex, PM me and come round sometime,

CJ

I have put some more details on Github. I have managed to cobble a hopefully understandable wiring diagram.
The wiring is pretty simple, just 2 components between the pi GPIO and the remote controller.
I have also uploaded my 2 scripts which I use to test and use the device.
I have added small detail to the readme.

Hope this helps.
