Raspberry Pi 3 Wifi

I have bought a raspberry pi3 and am trying to set up the wifi connection. I can see my SSID on the list. I click that and try to enter the passphrase and nothing happens. My router is 2.4GHz. The Channel it is using is 06. The security option is WPA2-PSK [AES]. I also checked the raspberry pi config and changed my locale to US and wifi country to US. I don't know what else to do.

This is the first time I am trying to do anything with a raspberry pi.

Thanks for the help.

I'm not an expert.. but I had to specify the SSID on my Pi3... then reboot. After a reboot, i went to reconfigure it, and then I got prompted for the passphrase. Good luck

I get prompted for the passphrase. I give the passphrase and then nothing happens.

Thanks for all the posts in the forum. I found my solution using one of them. I had to edit /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf file to change the name of ssid from coffee to my ssid. I don't know where the coffee ssid came from.
