Safety

Hello
I was just wondering if the raspberry pi 3 has an anti virus software and a firewall.
If it does not, is it possible to get one of them.
Thanks

It comes with iptables which you could use for a firewall and you can use apt-get to get an anti-virus think there is a few available example of clamAV install here http://www.ronnutter.com/raspberry-pi-c ... s-install/.

Why do you think you need an antivirus? ClamAV is designed to scan Windows files stored on Linux file systems rather than Linux virii. ClamAV is also a memory and CPU hog.

It is reasonable to consider this, but you have to understand the risks you are exposed to before expecting these solutions to act as 'magic bullets.'

Why is your RPi connected to a network in such a way that a firewall is needed? Most home broadband internet routers contain a default firewall that blocks incoming connections. Have you overriden that protection?

How could a virus enter and attack your system?

... and this, over 90% of my repeat customers is because they have either not taken proper security precautions or actively uninstalled any security software I installed previously believing they no longer require it.

Those issues concern all users on all platforms, windows, linux, andriod etc.
