Hi,
I have an oldschool television and at the moment no way to connect my raspberry pi to it. I'm putting off buying a single RCA to RCA cable when I came across an HDMI to three point RCA cable like this one:
http://dx.com/p/hdmi-to-3-rca-av-audio- ... ngth-80135
has anyone tried it yet or know if it will work.
:?

How old is your TV, does it have video in or does it require an RF modulator??

It is not a converter, it will not work.
Use a RCA cable with 3,5mm adapter for the sound and maybe an aditional RCA to SCART adapter. For example:

The 2nd link is wrong, it should be 3,5mm (not 2,5mm) -> 2*RCA like this:
http://www.amazon.de/dp/B0040036X4/?smi ... xigURjJ4Tw
If you have has mutliple video and audio in connections on your TV (red and white for audio and yellow for video) then you only need an RCA*3 cable (red, white and yellow) and an audio adapter (3,5mm -> 2*RCA).
The SCART Adapter is only if your TV has only SCART.
