boot Raspberry Pi 3 from a USB mass storage is very slow

I used this tutorial to let the Pi boots from usb stick
i used
1- transcend 16gb 3.0 usb
2- sandisk 64gb 3.0 usb

PI takes a lot of time for responding

How are you measuring it? There's always a delay before the rainbow screen while the hardware decides there's no bootable SDCard and switches to searching the four USB ports for a bootable device.

i mean while i am working on it, it takes alway a lot of time to do anything , like open folder and even when i use ssh to connect to it

Have you stumbled on the limited RAM bug? My RPi3B is back on an SDCard because it was only getting 128MB of RAM activated when I boot it from the current BRANCH=next bootcode.bin.

Everything I did caused the system to start swapping and dying through lack of RAM.

If you want speed then use a USB HDD.

yeah acutally i boot it from BRANCH=next bootcode.bin, do u have any solution ??
