smtube

How can I install a working version of smtube on my pi. Pi is a model b version 2.0 and is running raspian jessie.

Have you tried "sudo apt-get install smtube" ??

Yes, it installs an old version, I think, that cant connect to the server. I don't know how to fix this.

The latest suppored version in Debian Jessie is 14.8.0-1. If you're so inclined, it looks like there is a backport, however using backported packages is up to you.

I think this is what I need to do, but I don't know how. Will someone give me step by step instructions that I can copy and paste?

As you have probably seen, there do not seem to be any such step-by-step instructions on the main smtube.org website, or in the tarball containing the source files.

It is impossible to generalise about how to build other people's sources. For informed knowledgeable advice about this specific package it is probably best to raise your query on their own support forum: http://forum.smplayer.info/
