I've got the latest RPi with onboard WiFi and the 18th of March Raspbian.

I'm very fond of the text editor Kate so I use added / remove software and it duly downloaded it and its dependant support programs......

But what then ? Kate did not show up anywhere !

I think I'm a bit rusty here... how to I get Kate running.... ? Is it from terminal ? or 'Run' or....

Its probably idiot simple, but currently it escapes me...

An thoughts anyone would be greatly appreciated !

A puzzled,

Tim

Try opening the menu editor (it's in preferences) and check if it's in any of the submenus.
If you find it then deactivate / activate the submenu and the program itself, then save the changes.
I found that programs would be available from the menu after doing this.
