Raspbian or Archlinux?

Hi,

I'm not sure what distribution should I use. I use Archlinux on my laptop, and I like this distribution. But, I have read that the raspbian is optimized for rasberry, and it works faster and better and more stable. Is that true? Is there a big difference between Arch and Raspbian?

Thank you...

Raspbian is faster, don't know about more stable, I've been using Arch 24/7 for weeks without issues.

Raspbian currently has some issues with some programs and programming platforms not yet ported to armhf, I.e. Mono is a no go.

It is up to you. You can try both, then you choose a better one. It is not hard to try or switch.

I use Raspbian, and I also use Ubuntu Desktop on my PC. Both Raspbian and Ubuntu are Debian distribution variants. As an average Linux user, I found no big difference. For example, if I want to install vim and vsftpd, I use the same command 'sudo apt-get install vim vsftpd' on both Raspbian & Ubuntu.
