Bad luck for me. Tried everything to optimize the RPI B+.
It was only a 115kbps serial link I needed to make work, but the python/Linux lag time was bad enough that my old Pentium 1 166Mhz with W98SE and VB6 worked better. I'll find another use for it.
I had even used flush serial trying to get a peppier response.
